CUTE for the cure

I've been feeling pretty down and out lately. The weather here in WA State sure doesn't help anything, it gets old seeing grey skies month after month.

So in lieu of feeling blue I have been trying (I mean really trying as hard as it is to get motivated for anything) to draw and create some cuteness in my life.

Little characters depicting cute help me put a little smile on my face (and my daughters too!) I am by no means a "drawing" artist but I do find it good therapy. I get to sit and just draw. These characters seem to spark a little happiness in me when I am feeling down..

Here are a few I've done in the last few days...

I plan on creating more to keep this bout of depression at bay...... with a little help of these characters maybe they can get me out of this little slump I'm in :) xoxo

My heart hurts!

I am beside myself as I watch horrid details on the Newtown Connecticut shooting.

My heart hurts for everyone in that community. I CANNOT even imagine how they feel!!!!! I am sickened with grief for them all!!!!!

I will hold my daughter tight and thank God for all the blessings I have on this day!

I will explain to her how none of the little things matter and how family, friends and love are most important in our lives!

Where the hell have I been?

WOW it has actually been so long since I blogged that I sign into Typepad to find out I have to learn it all over again..

Either the changes they have made are so drastic,, OR since becoming a mommy my brain has really acually turned to MUSH... I think the later is the actual..

 

Where do I begin? or RESTART.. I have felt so out of touch going thru the ONES TWOS and now coming up on the THREE's with my daughter.. that I feel it is time to start using my brain a little and acting instead of reacting..

Someone once told me when my daughter was a baby... "say goodbye to the first couple years of her life as far as yourself is concerned" my initial thought was YEAH WHATEVER... that is so outlandish... but NOW I KNOW... SHE COULDN'T OF BEEN MORE RIGHT ON THE MONEY...

I have focused these entire two years solely on her I have forgotten who I am and what I did... I used to blog everyday? NO WAY.. not me... I used to create things on a daily/weekly basis??? NO WAY not me... but YES that was me... and now I have to completely re-invent myself... what I had worked so hard for before has completely been erased.. matter of fact I am sure that I will be the only one reading this.... my readers have flown the coupe ....flew the coupe??..

Regardless.. I have to start somewhere... for the sake of my sanity I need to get my words and thoughts down SOMEWHERE...

Yes I have tried to actually journal with pen and paper.. but the minute I get my markers out.. the little is like "mommy I draw with your markers"...and I end up getting nothing down but a drawing animals from random to please that little princess.... which is such and oxy moron to me because when I first dreamt of having a little child from God... I couldn't imagine nothing cooler than journaling with my child... and now I only wish I could have a moment alone.... LOL

Don't get me wrong.. being a mother has been the most amazing experience I have ever had and I love my daughter more than words can say...

I just need to get back to having somewhat of an identity...somewhat of a release of this person I am now... AN OUTLET... 

So here I am POSTING AGAIN after years of poopy diapers.. I only hope I can stick to it and dedicate even a few minutes here..

I haven't posted personally about what is going on for a while...partly because I myself am a bit confused.

Deep within this journey of mine.. finding who I am.. why...what to do next.. how to get things together.. etc etc...

It has been cleansing, relieving, stressful, sad, happy, confusing, angry, painful, hopeful.. and so much more. Honestly.. Emotionally I feel like I have been hit with a MAC TRUCK! It is all good in the long run.. but the journey there (not quite knowing how long it'll take) is definitely exhausting in all aspects.

A few weekends ago I met my dear sweet friend Tracy in Centralia,WA to spend the weekend and some down time. By the end of the weekend I think I had her so emotionally exhaused with all my crap that she was absolutely drained as well!! We had a wonderful time though and it was much needed... and MUCH APPRECIATED Tracy!  It feels so good to me to have a friend during this difficult time....and one who is willing to spend an entire day with me not doing a damn thing but chatting and just "chillin' out... one who I can be 100% myself with.... it is such a relief!! Tracy....thank you so much for your unconditional love,support and understanding!!!:))) I just love ya!

Mom, you are THE STRONGEST most admirable person I know.. and it's not because you're MY Mom, but because it's the TRUTH!

Emotionally.. you have been to HELL and back this past year.. don't be so hard on yourself!!!!! You have been through SO much but yet STILL have time to take care of everyone else in your life. I don't know anyone who has been through what you have and done what you have for other people in the same duration! EVER!

25. FAVORITE SMELL?  My sister (she wore Channel # 5), the Ocean, Lilacs, Lavender, Fresh sprigs of Evergreen trees, My hair when it's freshly washed, Clean sheets off the clothesline etc. ( Can you tell I'm a sniffer)

Boy do I miss the smell of Aunt Pam too!! She IS the reason why #5 is my all time favorite. Ever since I was a little girl I have always LOVED her smell!

I too love the way your hair smells when it's clean. Because I am taller (sorry) when I go to hug you it's a perfect hair smelling opp! :)

37. SUMMER OR WINTER?  Winter colors. Spring and Fall Seasons (both are fresh).

Love the smell in the air in Spring and Fall.. I totally agree (except I like Summer colors)

Your entire life has not only been devoted to single-handedly raising a daughter doing the best you could, but a respectable/admirable career, and helping others in every spare moment you can regardless of what you are dealing with. And I think the most incredible thing about you is.. you NEVER complain... you are JUST like Auntie Pam! You put others ahead of yourself daily without a single complaint, or a "you owe me".. you do it because you are a genuinely KIND person. You are a model citizen and catholic, and live by the rule.. "Treat others the same way you want them to treat you" only I don't think you get back even 1/4th of what you give! Honestly... for ONCE in your life I think you need to put yourself in front of everyone else!!!! You deserve to!!!
