Recently my five year old daughter Audrey and I were on one of our excursions out and about. Toys R Us and Michaels are right next to each other.. so we hit the toy store for her and Michaels Craft Store for me to spend Dads hard earned money :)...
BUT... up until I would say the last 6 months or so... MY daughter would much rather go to the CRAFT store rather than Toys R Us...(well not always :) but what kid picks something at the craft store,, than the toy store) MINE!!!! WOOHOO this makes Mom happy LOL
So,, on this particular day... Audrey skipped the toy store. We go into Michaels, and Audrey starts asking to buy numerous things and says she wants to make a carousel. So who am I to limit her creative capabilities.. so I go along with it, and buy what she puts in our cart not really understanding what she has in mind.
We go home and this is what SHE had in mind! With a little drilling help from her Dad SHE created this beautiful carousel! I was honestly dumbfounded that she had made up this creation in her head and made it come to fruition! SO proud of her,, we entered it into her schools art fair (just a display of the kids' creative abilities, no prizes involved)
Here is her beautiful creation! Everything picked and dreamed up by her!
and the finished product entered into the art fair at her school, completed with a little ticket booth :)
not a good picture, doesn't do it justice
