I volunteered today for a local art festival called Fresh Paint. It's a very well done event that displays local artists at work/selling their work. Everything from watercolor & mixed media to glassblowing & silversmiths at work.
The best part about this event is watching the artists work!--oh and the fact that it's on the waterfront boardwalk and everyone can bring their dogs is quite a plus too! I met several sweet doggies (which I can remember all their names no problem--when it comes to the dog owner's names--don't even ask...it's funny how that works with me!)
This is Andy the border collie, that I saw numerous times today. IT IS true that they are the SMARTEST dogs around... and Andy was a SWEETHEART!!!!!
This is Jose, the 7 year old pug! Talk about spoiled! He had his OWN baby carriage because he's getting a little too old to walk around at these events, but his owner wasn't about to leave him home to miss out!
It was my job today to sell raffle tickets and relieve the artists for breaks. I had so much fun and it makes me want to be involved in the community events So much more! It's a WIN WIN!
This one just one of the booths that I worked at.. His glasswork was AMAZING!
This gal created some INCREDIBLE mixed media work!!! I have to say as far as relating, her work was one of my favorites!
Some incredible work in pastels!
It was a great day, and so inspiring.. I wanted to come home and filthy with FRESH PAINT!

Oh my gosh, I love the doggie in the buggy. How sweet is that. That is totally something I would do for my dogs, pathetic I know.
What a wonderful fun place to go--you must be so inspired for sure to do some art, I know I would be!

Stacie- I am amazed by your energy! I went to Fresh Paint as well (after being at the studio!) and was intrigued by the other artist's work I saw- but the fact that you volunteered to help with the event is commendable- in another life I did alot of community volunteer work so am so proud that it was a great energizing experience for you to volunteer- that's the kind of spirit we need to make our communities the great places where we want to live and work!
