Surprise Gift

I received a package in the mail on Saturday and to my surprise it was a BEAUTIFUL gift from Lisa Call!

It was the most beautiful charm bracelet made by her,, down to the charms themselves. The little paw charm has a "B" on the back of it!

In her little note she stated she wanted to give me something in memory of Bailey, and to reciprocate with the trade I had given her at Artfest!

I have worn it everyday since Saturday, and am so excited to add charms to it!!!

The Magician!

Tonight I went to my Grandmothers house after work..We've been meaning to go through some of her old pictures she has and of course it's one of those things that we never seem to do. We went through a few of them tonight and it brought back so many memories of my childhood.. and great memories at Grandma and Grandpas house!

I found this old picture in one of the boxes..

It is a picture of my Grandpa performing on stage.. He was a magician!

My Mom has told me stories of their white pet bunnies they used to have.. ones that he would make disappear on stage, (black top hat and all!) but Mom told me they always came home!. How fun would that be to have your father be a "real" magician???

Although he died in 1983, my fondest memories of him were his little magic tricks he'd show us grand kids. The severed thumb... which always intrigued me, card tricks, and disappearing coins!

This is the first time I have seen this picture.. and the first time I have seen him on stage! What an incredible picture to come across tonight!

I have 3 more boxes of pictures to thumb through! I wonder what others I'll find!!!!

A Beautiful thing

Today was a beautiful sunny day...

But the most beautiful thing was seeing and capturing this on camera!

Creativity and Depression

I know I have suffered on and off for many years with depression. There are times when I just want to lock myself in a room (art room of course) and be alone for several days..weeks.. months at a time....just be ALONE...

Triggers? Yes there can be triggers for me.. but sometimes not.. (which is even more frustrating)...what causes it? And why do I have to suffer from it?

I know a lot of people who do suffer from it, and when I think about it.. most of them  are extremely creatively minded people.. in one form or another.

I wonder.. is creativity  linked somehow with depression? or Visa Versa?

Is it because creative people are usually ultra-sensitive, more aware of their surroundings?.. What is it?

I thought I would do a search on the 2 subjects..

Can't help but cry!

Today I got an email from Kristy Harris.. it had been just hours ago she had to have her dog JD put down. When I read her email.. and her post on her blog.. I just cried...

Cried for several reasons...

I know her pain...all too well...

Want to help her pain go away.. but only Father Time can do that for her..

Cried because.. here is another person.. who loved her dog.. like I did... another dog.. who had a wonderful life with a human companion.

Cried because that sweet special bond we can have with our pets.. is just priceless....

Kristy...hang in there.. and know there are others who know how you feel!

Past Art

Sometimes I will go into my files and look over the things I have made in the past .. (most of them sold now, or given away)

I am so darn critical of everything I make, but occasionally I can actually say there are some things I have created that I really like for some reason or another...

I ran across this collage that I think I did over a year ago now...

I am not really quite sure what I do like about it.... the colors? the nonconformity of it?? the simpleness??? I just like it.. I remember when I made it and it just seemed to come to me with no struggles...(maybe that is what links me to like it)

I kind of wish I still had it in my possession so I could frame it. (I sold it on Ebay)

I have set it as my wallpaper at work, and everyday I turn on my computer  and see it.. it seems to make me smile...If it strikes any emotion,,, one that can make me smile these days is such a wonderful thing!

Monday Blues

I just don't care for Mondays! It's crazy at work, and I know I have the whole week to get through! Today just topped it off too! I spilt a LARGE coffee in my cubicle at work! A coffee laced with hazelnut and vanilla none the less!

IT STINKS, and I KNOW they don't clean the carpets!!! I will have to think of something to try and clean it up! Such a bummer!!!

Above is my second attempt at creating since I've been back from AF. Not really sure where I am going (style wise).. I like one extreme to the other.. from whimsical and cute to dark and old.

If anyone is interested.. its currently for sale! :)
