About 2 weeks ago (soon after we lost Bailey) Scout started coughing really bad... so we brought him into the vet and they put him on meds...
Well.. I brought him in again today for a check up and to bring up a few other concerns and what it boils down to, and to make a long story short (because honestly I can't bare even writing that my only dog left is having problems) is he has a TUMOR that is growing around his ribs pressing on his lungs.
When the vet told me this today.. (and after he gave me a hug).. I know I had a deer in the headlight's look. I can't even bare the thought of loosing another precious one.
SO, Scout will have surgery on Monday.
The vet says this is not a big deal, and he should have no problems... (he can tell me that all he wants...but all I want is to bring him home!!!)
Surgery is the only option he has.
Stacie, oh my goodness, you heart must be so heavy with concern. I'm so sorry honey you have to go through this. I will be with you in spirit and in prayer. Give Scout a big kiss and hug for me.
Love you,
JoAnnA

Stacie - I only recently discovered your blog and enjoy it so much. I am so sorry about Bailey and will be praying for Scout and you. My little guy, Happy Joe Cocker, who is also my "kid" has been very ill since January and my heart has also been breaking. Please know that your love for your animals is so wonderful and they are so fortunate to have you as a "mom". You have a lot of prayers coming your way.

Stacie, I am so sorry.I dont know what to say. I am sure everything will be just fine. I feel terrible.
Thank you for the card by the way. I really needed to be sending you one I think, not the other way around. I know about the time issue, I sent my brothers birthday card about a week late. Hope he doesnt hate me!
Keep us posted on Scout. I will be thinking of the both of you.

Stacie- Scout has a tumor?
Honey, this is unreal. Lord knows - I'm sure the vet knows his stuff when he says Scout WILL be okay - but,I know you are worried. Please, please, please hang in there. I will not rest easy until I know he is ok.
You and Scout will be in my heart from now til then (and ever after!)
Hugs & Doggie kisses-
Deb
