Bailey's Special Day

Pretty sad to think that some kids don't even get presents on their Birthday! But oh no,, Bailey had a pretty special day.

She got to play sock...

She waited patiently to open her present until her Dad was there to see...

She LOVES to open presents,, and it is QUITE the site to see. Pretty smart on her part. She gets so excited to open presents.. ((this was taught to her at a young age that Christmas, and Birthdays are fun times,, because you get PRESENTS)) She tears each piece off bit by bit to see whats inside! SO CUTE!

Her brother watches patiently to see if its something he might like....

Then since she can't get the top of the tennis ball can open.. this she leaves to her Dad...

She completely enjoyed her gift (cheap thrill!)

Then after the present festivities and playing and lots of love tonight,, yes,,, she got to go out for her very own Hamburger!

All in all she had a special day! I think she was pleased as well!

Happy Birthday Bailey!

My dear sweet doggie Bailey is 10 years old today! It is hard to believe she is already 10!

Thinking back on it---it's also hard to believe I took on such a responsibility when I was so young too. Of course I guess it would somewhat compare to having kids young.. only dogs don't talk back (well Bailey does sometimes)

Dear Bailey,

You have brought me so much laughter, enjoyment & companionship over the last 10 years. It is hard to believe it's went so fast.  You have helped me with life in so many different aspects.

You are always so happy to see me when I come home, and the instant I walk through the door and see how happy you are I forget how bad my day was.

During tragedies, you've been able to put a smile on my face and comfort me in your "doggie" way to know that things will be okay. You lean on me, and want to be around me every chance you get--you must love me, as much as I love you, and that is so cool!

You just want attention, and to be loved, that's not much to ask for. I hope your last 10 years has been good for you. Just know how much YOU are loved by your Daddy, Scout and I. We love you with all our hearts! May you have 10 more years with us!

We love you Bailey!

Dog hair is for the BIRDS!

Tis the season for Scout to shed!

Instead of making the house even more infested with dog hair, I have been brushing Scout outdoors.

It was a few days ago when I noticed that the little sparrows were picking up the dog hair and carrying it to their nests. It is the cutest little thing I have ever seen! It's almost instantaneous--I brush--leave the hair on the lawn--and they're there!

So now I thoroughly enjoy brushing him and leaving the hair for the birdies.. (I think he loves it too!) Last night I think I brushed him 4 different times! I wait for the birds to take the first batch and then--"c'mon Scout--the birds need more nesting materials" and he happily trots over for yet ANOTHER brushing.

((poor dog he'll have only patches of hair left on him before the summer is over!))

If you'll notice in the picture,, the bird has a tuft of Scout's hair in his beak! So cute!

Little things... don't seem so bad when...

Haven't written in a few days...

Been busy with the house, work, etc etc,,,

Normal life stuff ...

But just when you think you're getting a handle on it,,, (life)

The car breaks down, the dentist overbills you and you have to deal with insurance companies, the washer breaks, and the dog hurts his foot...

That's life!

and just when I start complaining about these "little" things...

I run across a beautiful picture of a rainbow I took  (at Artfest) and then things don't seem so bad. :)

Gotta iron my clothes for work tomorrow and GET TO BED!!!

New Collage!

I was up late last night... couldn't seem to sleep,, probably for the fear every night when I go to bed lately I have nightmares about my new job--in fear of another--fought to stay awake I suppose.

A good thing came about because of my insomnia...

I made a new collage.. I call "Blue Sky".. and put it up for sale on my website.

Making Earrings and Supervising

Since my time after work has been so limited lately, I have started making earrings to be creative. It seems by the time I go to my studio and even think about making a new collage an hour has flown by and I have not yet decided what to start with.

Making earrings right now seems to be the right thing to do. It's mobile, and I can make them outside while supervising the demolition of the house my husband has been working on so diligently.

Ok, so here I sit making earrings while my husband is hard at work tearing the aluminum siding off the house. Some may call it lazy, for the time being I just call it ~~staying out of the way until there is work I can help with that doesn't involve flying aluminum and nails~~  

I will do my part when the caulking and painting comes! :)

I am not sure what is worse the yellow aluminum siding or the sea foam green???

Bailey is also a General Foreman! Scout is inside with his hard hat on--he avoids construction sites.

Incredibly Talented Friends!

I have to say,,, I have some very creative friends! I love it when they send me pictures of the beautiful projects they've been working on! It not only inspires me, but makes me want to set aside time each night regardless of how tired the day makes me.
