Those Furry Friends!

It is fairly late right now, my husband is sleeping and I am playing in the "studio" HOWEVER, I am not getting much done because the dogs are wanting their share of attention. They are leaning on me, nudging me (both of them) looking up at me with their sad brown eyes,, like "mamma,, we need LOVE!!!".
Are my dogs jealous of my art time???? Is that possible.

Here I thought I would get some time to myself to play :) Jeff was up early fishing in the bay so he retired fairly early..... ~~~my thinking~~~~ohhh I'll just go PLAY... but noooooooooo... the furry friends want some attention. :) They just crack me up!

Well, I better not spend anymore time because I am getting a rashon of you know what...

OK,, now Bailey is "moo-ing"--meaning "I AM HERE!!!" I think she is also trying to tell me she wants to go to bed!

I better go love 'em.

Never ceases to amaze me...

It never ceases to amaze me just HOW many artists are out there (collage art) that make the most incredible pieces of work! The new artwork I have found lately just surfing the web has BLOWN me away! I could sit for hours just admiring others' artwork I have found via the internet and the yahoo groups I belong to.

I struggle with my own work. I need to just let go, and be who I want to be. I need to let that come out in my work! I worry WAY too much on trying to impress others, or worry about what others think. Not AT ALL how I WANT to feel,, but can't help it. This is something I am trying to work on--to just to LET GO. I just haven't quite figured out how yet.

I have an inner self that is screaming to come out but don't know how to go about it. It has been subdued for so long that it seems almost impossible.

I admire those artists whom you can SEE their STYLE, and see their personalities reflected in their artwork. I wonder were they born with that sense of self-confidence, or was it something they learned...???? hummmmmmm

Just another thing in life to accomplish I suppose. :)

COLORS

I LOVE colors!
It is so fun to sit down and just play with ALL different colors! Give me an art set filled with colored pencils, crayons, paint, etc etc,, and I am a happy camper!
ALWAYS have been fasinated by colors!
I remember when I was in grade school. I would walk downtown to catch the bus and would detour into the local J.K.Gill (stationary store) and drool over all of the coloring media, pads of paper and art supplies.
When I was in high school I KNEW I wanted to be a graphic artist... I STILL know this. Unfortunately I took a wrong path and ended up in the corporate world and feel "stuck" with golden handcuffs. Pretty sad that I knew back then what I wanted, but didn't "follow my intuition".

Thus,, I play in my "studio" and now drool over my own stockpile of colors. Don't get to do it from 8-5 but get to do it when I'm home.

Step away from the Art...

Step away from the Art is what I should have done last night! I was into so many things last night and NOTHING was working for me. NOTHING!
I tried a water transfer off of glossy photo paper (non-archival ink),, TOTALLY did not work... :(
I tried to give a crackle finish to a picture---waited for 3 hours,, NO CRACKELS!
I tried a tin transfer--Totally no luck there either!

I don't understand if I am doing these techniques wrong,, or it was just an unlucky night. Talk about frustrating,, and what I should have done was just stepped away,, and came back another day..

Jeff even came down and then started to experiment w/different solvents,, hairspray,, etc for transfers,, well,, he didn't have any better luck either.

If anyone reading this has any tips on a water transfer,, PLEASE HELP ME! I want that look SOOO bad but haven't figured out what I am doing wrong...

Oh well, another day I'll go back to the drawing board..

QUEEN OF RED!

Queen of Red!

Ok, yesterday was PINK today it's RED. :)

I want so badly to FINISH an Art Journal,, however everytime I begin,, I am strapped by my own ugly "not good enough" subliminal voices, or I get interupted by something else. I think I have about 10 STARTED, but not one completed one to cherish and admire!

I need to start carrying mine every where I go!

Every time I see a completed Art/visual Journal I am so intrigued! I am so drawn to them. There are so many different kinds, I have yet to see one I didn't like.
