That darn dog
We missed the annual pancake breakfast that morning because of that darn dog. We could have gone out to see Anna?s band play at the club the night before, but couldn?t because of that darn dog. When I think of all the things we could have done and places we could have went but didn?t because of that darn dog. We could have gone out for a nice dinner that July night but didn?t. We had to take that darn dog to a drive in movie and take out beef sandwiches because, it was his birthday. We could have gone in a store but didn?t . It was too hot out and they didn?t let dogs in. No matter how cute our darn dog was. We did have to the summer outdoor municipal band concerts. Not because we would have been missed but, the old people needed to see him and laugh at the dog in the wagon. Family in tow. And we did have to stop in the dry cleaners even though we had nothing to pick up but, he needed to run through his tricks for a treat or two. Of all the things we could have done, I?ll never miss. The night we didn?t go to the club, he needed us. The next morning we just forgot about the pancakes. By afternoon he was gone. I wish that darn dog was here to make me miss something again, besides missing him.
