IN MEMORY OF RENEE PLAINS' DOG "HANNAH"
It will be three weeks tomorrow since Hannah, my precious Jack Russell Terrier, passed (3/23/06). She was only 2 1/2 years old. She died from a horrible auto immune disease IMHA Immune Mediated Hemolytic Anemia. My research about this disease points to vacinations and unfortunately the timeline fits. It is so hard to accept that my vibrant little fur ball went from her high energy to barely able to lift her head in less than a week. She spent a week in ICU at Sonora Animal Hospital, a wonderful hospital with a caring, loving staff. Only 30 - 40% of dogs affected with this disease survive, it hits more females than males (3 – 4x) usually between 2 - 6 years old and is not breed specific. About three years ago the veterinary community issued a statement that dogs are being over-vacinated - if only I knew the potential to compromise Hannah's health. No doubt time will help heal my broken heart but I really miss Hannah
