Then came and went Halloween! The first year I dressed her up... the age where you can dress them in whatever YOU like and they can detest it when they're adults! :)
At this time she has approximately 12 words in her little vocabulary... I wouldn't say that PumPkin is one of them, but she seems to say it, but more often calls the pumpkins "ball"
Lucy and Audrey were equally ennammered with this carved pumpkin
A few days after her actual birthday we had a good 50 or so people crammed in our little house for her birthday party, mostly family which was surprising... this was the first occasion all for her and with both sides we had quite a bit of family present! My Dad and his wife even flew up from California for the big occasion.
This little girl... ate it all up...
SHE LOVES PEOPLE! and for her... the more the merrier! Her big thing that day was "OOOOOOH" as you can tell from this picture....
Then come October.... I cannot believe she is 1!
One year ago I gave birth to this little bird! I had NO IDEA what to expect, I had NO IDEA she would be so much fun! I had NO IDEA she would be so amazing, and that she would turn my husband into the best father ever!
I wish I could go back to that first week she came home.. just for a moment.. to look into her eyes and hold her little hands and feet in my hand. I wish I could tell myself then to relax a bit and not stress out that wasn't doing the right things...to tell myself everything is great and I was doing ok!
If I could do it all over again in retrospect.. I would cherish the time a little longer.. I would relax a bit more! :)
She started walking a few weeks before her first birthday, she toodles around very well,, and is really cruising now! We call her Edgar when she walks because she looks like Vincent D'Onofrio's character Edgar in the MEN IN BLACK movie.
For her actual birthday which was Oct 24th Nanna (my Mother) came over and played with us and we opened a few presents with Lucy too of course! Here are a few pictures from her birthday
Then we celebrated with family at a local mexican restaurant (She's gotta love mexican food, because thats what I craved when I was pregnant with her!)....
She was enamored with the singing, and was a trooper with the sombrero on her head!
OMG...
I am so ashamed to say I haven't posted for so long and to my surprise a few people had pointed this out to me... honestly i thought no one really read my blog much!.
So... to get back in the swing of things.. here is some catch up....
The little is growing FAST and I am chasing her now... literally.... all day..... every day.....how common is this???? Since this is my first time around being a mommy,,I don't know if every child is this busy..???? But Audrey,, DOESN'T stop!
I cannot count how many times I have opened my computer to post and by the forces of nature, and windows vista (HATE IT).....something comes in between me and my posting.
My time is so limited to sit down with the computer..
My computer time is either when she naps,, which normally at this time I am trying to clean the house that my little Tasmanian devil has torn through or the mounds of laundry that seem to accumulate unbeknownst to me.. (how can there be so much laundry with a 2 footer?)
OR then there is when she goes to bed, but by this time my brain and body has checked out and all I can seem to do is brainless tv watching.
So I am going to post separately since I have so much catching up to do... so here are some pictures back from September...we went to the park a lot (only a block away from our house) and played in the backyard and lots of swimming!
This last picture Audrey was upset because her "sister" took her pink bear!
Little loves the pool! We have been in it a lot this summer! The sunglasses are a good idea, but she will not keep them on. In the pictures she didnt realize she had rhem on her head or they would of been off in a heartbeat. She loves the water, pool time..... bath time...... she is a water girl! I NEED to get her into swim classes! Last night at bath time was the first time she cried when she had to get out! Today is supposed to be another 90+ degree day so I'm sure we'll be in the pool again! She has the most adorable swimsuit......but why even bother???
